All returns must be mailed back to the SAM office 60 days after receipt of materials. Please call the SAM office to discuss your return prior to mailing it. Merchandise (apparel, videos & books) returned for exchange or refund must be in sellable condition unless received damaged. SAM will only refund postage costs if the return is the result of office error. SAM Memberships are only refunded within 30 days of the office receipt. SAM membership applications need to be signed by new and renewing members to accept SAM’s mission statement. If the application is not signed, the executive director may send the application and dues back for review and signature of applicant. Once signed the application and dues can be mailed back to the SAM office.


After purchase is made by either phone, mail or on-line, the office administration will check inventory and mail out within three days of purchase. If for some reason, the size is unavailable at that time, an order will be placed to our vendor and should be received 2 weeks later – at which time the item will be boxed up and mailed the next day. If vendor ordering is required an email or phone call will be placed to purchaser to inform them of the delay.


Due to an exciting surplus of SAM membership applications coming into the office, please allow two weeks for the membership packets to be mailed. If it is during the months of March and April, our busy show months, please allow three weeks for the membership packets to arrive at your door. Security and confidentiality of data SAM is committed to keeping our purchasers’ personal information confidential. We will never request your credit card information unless you are placing an order (online, by phone or by mail). Your information is kept in house and securely stored. Upon request from the purchaser we can shred personal documents after entering information into database (no credit card numbers are stored in the database). SAM’s database is not sold in anyway and is stored securely on our server. Contact the SAM Office SAM is committed to having our members be 100% satisfied. The SAM Headquarters is located at 205 Church Hill Road (just off of Route 3) in Augusta. What is SAM?

The Sportsman's Alliance of Maine is Maine's largest sportsman's organization with a headquarters/conference center and full-time staff at 205 Church Hill Road in Augusta and a 12-member Board of Directors. Organized in 1975, SAM is a 501(c)(3) non-profit membership organization organized and operated exclusively for charitable, educational and scientific purposes, among which are the following:

  • 1. To develop and provide information on wildlife resources, field sports and conservation programs that will benefit such resources, sports and programs.
  • 2. To educate the public concerning the American heritage of hunting, trapping and fishing.
  • 3. To initiate and participate in litigation in the courts when necessary to protect the beneficial pursuits of hunting, trapping, fishing and scientific wildlife management practices.
  • 4. To promote and explain field sports, wildlife conservation and scientific wildlife management practices through literature, films, the press, television and radio.
  • 5. To provide organizations throughout the state with financial and management assistance to achieve these purposes.
  • 6. To acquire and develop moneys to be used for scholarships and awards relative to these purposes.
  • 7. To defend and protect the right of individuals to keep, use and bear firearms.
